I know the word Union is a strong word to use, but we are going to be playing hardball for our members.
We are the only profession to my knowledge with no support. The Alabama appraisal board in my opinion
should have the responsibility to 
1. Educate, 
2. Support, 
3. Discipline. Their answer is, we are here to protect the public, so is the Marine Corp, I was one, 
    but if we got no support we simply fight to the last man.  The problem in my opinion is not the members 
    of the board but the information they are getting, or in far too many cases are not getting. This union will be 
    comprised of appraisers that are recommended by other appraiser union members. Ths is not about 
    making money this is about protecting your life from unfair treatment.

A. We will have a staff member at each appraisal meeting, state and federal that concerns appraisers.
B. We will email out a newsletter on the events and changes that are ocurring.
C. We will have our legal people on retainer, knowledgable in the law for appraisers and real estate.
D. We will have a watch list of lenders. I will email when a lender is on do not use list.
E. We can build an organization, seen as worthy of respect. As it is now, 
     so many people think we appraise to the estimated value they need it to be. 
     And yes we have all seen them.
F. We will proceed against the individual on the board that oversteps their bounds.
G. WE ARE NOT here to cover up fraud, or incompetent work 
H. And of course here to help with difficult questions in regard to appraisals.
I. I feel sure the Political view of appraisers will change. more to come

I am going to be looking for appraisers that want to get involved in the leadership of this new union. 
To first determine if the union is to be set up by states or districts. I need all the ideas and suggestions 
I can get. I may simply appoint an appraiser for a state or district until we are at such a point , we can 
elect the district leader.

I have been so distraught by the condition of the affairs of the Alabama Appraisal Board , I have had to 
take this action. The governor has no knowledge of the situation nor does the State Legislators. The 
problem in Alabama is not the members of the board, well save one, but the leadership, Or the lack of 
leadership and the extreme unfair prejudice If there is any justice the current Alabama leadership will do time.

I understand Alabama may very well be the exception, the Alabama Board. .But this union will find the exceptions too. 
But you would be sadly mistaken to think this Union will not hold you responsible for your work. 
We may be in all 50 before we are through. We will grow in the areas of membership interest.
